Joe Staley is a former American football offensive tackle who played most of his career with the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on August 30, 1984, in Rockford, Michigan, and attended Central Michigan University. Staley quickly established himself as a key player on the 49ers' offensive line during his rookie season. He was named to the NFL All-Rookie Team that year, and later earned six Pro Bowl selections and three Second-Team All-Pro honors over the course of his 13-year career. He played in two Super Bowls with the 49ers, and helped the team reach the Super Bowl XLVII in 2013. Staley was also known for his leadership and dedication, and was twice named the 49ers' team captain.

In 2019, Staley announced his retirement from professional football after an impressive career that saw him become one of the most respected and accomplished offensive tackles in the league. He was widely regarded as one of the best pass blockers in the NFL and played a crucial role in the 49ers' success during his time with the team. Staley left a lasting legacy by not only being a great player, but also by being a great teammate and leader on and off the field.
