John Michels Autographs
John Michels was a notable American football player who spent most of his career as an offensive tackle. Born on February 22, 1970, in Torrance, California, he went to Loyola Marymount High School before joining the University of Southern California. Playing as a tackle, John Michels won the Morris Trophy in 1992 as the best collegiate offensive lineman on the West Coast. That same year, he was also a consensus All-American and helped USC cap off an undefeated season with a Rose Bowl win.
After his outstanding career at USC, Michels was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft. However, he struggled to establish himself as a regular player and eventually signed with the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe in 1998. There, he played as an offensive guard and helped the team win the World Bowl in 1999. Michels then returned to the United States and signed with the Carolina Panthers but only played one season before retiring from football.
Michels remained involved with football even after his playing days. He earned a master's degree in education from the University of Redlands and went on to coach football at various levels. He coached tight ends and offensive linemen at his alma mater, USC, from 2004 to 2008 and then moved on to other coaching positions at colleges and high schools. Despite his relatively brief NFL career, John Michels demonstrated a remarkable passion for the game, and his dedication to coaching helped to shape the careers of numerous players.
