Jon Kitna Autographs
Jon Kitna is a retired American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 16 seasons. Born on September 21, 1972, in Tacoma, Washington, Jon grew up in the neighboring suburb of Lakewood. He attended Lincoln High School, where he played as a quarterback, leading the football team to the 1990 state championship. After high school, Jon enrolled at Central Washington University and played for CWU Wildcats from 1991 to 1995. He was a three-time All-American selection and led the team to three straight conference championships.
In 1996, Jon Kitna joined the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent. He spent four seasons with the Seahawks, establishing himself as a solid backup quarterback. In 2001, he signed with the Cincinnati Bengals and quickly became the starter. Over the next five seasons, Kitna enjoyed some of his best seasons with the Bengals, throwing for more than 15,000 yards and leading the team to two playoff appearances. In 2006, he signed with the Detroit Lions and became the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for more than 4,000 yards in a season for a team who finished with a losing record. After three seasons with the Lions, Kitna was traded to the Dallas Cowboys, where he served as a backup quarterback for two seasons before retiring in 2012.
Throughout his career, Jon Kitna was known for his toughness, leadership, and work ethic. He was admired by both teammates and coaches for his dedication to the game and his ability to overcome adversity. Kitna finished his NFL career with a total of 29,745 passing yards, 169 touchdowns, and 165 interceptions. After retiring from football, he became a high school football coach in Tacoma, where he continues to inspire young athletes to this day.
