Harrell's NFL career began when he was selected with the 16th overall pick by the Green Bay Packers in the 2007 NFL Draft. His career was plagued by injuries, and he missed the entire 2008 season due to a torn biceps muscle. Despite injuries, Harrell played in 14 games during the 2009 season and made 18 tackles for the Packers. He played his final NFL game in 2010 before retiring due to ongoing injury concerns.

Despite a short career, Harrell's football accolades include being named the Coaches' All-SEC Freshman Team in 2003 and the SEC All-Freshman Team in 2003. Although Harrell suffered from injuries, he was an impactful player when he was healthy, exhibiting exceptional strength and power on the football field. After retiring from professional football, Harrell returned to his hometown in Tennessee, where he is involved in promoting youth football and working with his family's farm.
