Justin Houston Autographs
Justin Houston is a former American football linebacker who played for the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons. He was born on January 21, 1989, in Statesboro, Georgia. Houston attended the University of Georgia, where he played for the Georgia Bulldogs football team from 2007 to 2010. During his collegiate career, he recorded 126 tackles and 20 sacks, and was named a first-team All-SEC and a first-team All-American by the Associated Press in his senior year.
In the 2011 NFL Draft, Houston was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round as the 70th overall pick. He started his rookie year as a backup linebacker but played in all 16 games, recording 5.5 sacks and becoming the team's most productive pass rusher. Houston's breakout season came in 2014 when he set a franchise record of 22 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and 59 tackles, earning him a spot in the Pro Bowl and being named a first-team All-Pro. He continued to dominate the league in the following years and signed a six-year, $101 million contract extension with the Chiefs in 2015, making him one of the highest-paid defensive players in NFL history.
Despite battling injuries in the latter part of his career, Houston continued to contribute to his team's success. He was released by the Chiefs in 2019 and joined the Indianapolis Colts in the following year, where he played a pivotal role on the team's defense. Over the course of his NFL career, Houston recorded 97.5 sacks, 383 tackles, and 24 forced fumbles, and was named to the Pro Bowl 4 times and was a 4-time First-Team All-Pro. Houston announced his retirement from professional football on August 21, 2021, at the age of 32.
