Ken O'Brien Autographs
Ken O'Brien is a former American football quarterback who played for 10 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Born in 1960 in California, O'Brien played college football at the University of California, Davis. After an impressive college career, he was drafted in the first round of the 1983 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. During his NFL career, O'Brien played for the Jets from 1983 to 1992 and for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1993.
O'Brien's best season came in 1985 when he threw for 3,888 yards and 25 touchdowns. He was a Pro Bowl selection that season, and his performance earned him the honor of being named the AFC Offensive Player of the Year. In 1986, with O'Brien at the helm, the Jets had one of their best seasons in franchise history, posting a 10-6 record and reaching the playoffs. O'Brien finished his career with 25,094 passing yards, 128 touchdowns, and a passer rating of 81.0.
Despite his impressive career statistics, O'Brien is perhaps best remembered for being selected after Dan Marino in the 1983 NFL Draft. While Marino was widely regarded as the best quarterback in that draft class, O'Brien had a solid NFL career and was respected by his peers and coaches alike. After retiring from football, O'Brien became an avid golfer and is now the head golf coach at his alma mater, UC Davis.
