Ken Stabler was an American football quarterback born on December 25, 1945, in Foley, Alabama. He attended the University of Alabama, where he played under coach Paul "Bear" Bryant. He played for the Crimson Tide from 1964 to 1967, leading the team to an undefeated season and national championship in 1966. Stabler then went on to the NFL, where he was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the second round of the 1968 NFL Draft. He played for the Raiders for ten seasons, during which he led them to the Super Bowl in 1976 and won Super Bowl XI in 1977. Stabler was known for his toughness, leadership, and ability to throw the deep ball, earning him the nickname "The Snake."
