Kevin Mawae Autographs
Kevin Mawae is a retired American football center who spent 16 seasons in the National Football League. He was born on January 23, 1971, in Savannah, Georgia, and grew up in Louisiana. Mawae attended Louisiana State University, where he played college football as a tackle for the LSU Tigers from 1989 to 1993. He started all four seasons and was a two-time All-American selection. He was also a finalist for the Outland Trophy, given to the best interior lineman in college football, in 1993.
Mawae was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round of the 1994 NFL Draft. He played six seasons with the Seahawks, where he garnered three Pro Bowl selections and was named to the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 2000s. Mawae then played four seasons with the New York Jets, where he was named to the Pro Bowl three times and was a first-team All-Pro in 1999 and 2001. He finished his career with two seasons for the Tennessee Titans, where he earned his eighth Pro Bowl selection in 2008. Mawae was known for his durability and consistency, starting 241 of 256 games in his career.
In addition to his on-field accomplishments, Mawae was also active off the field. He served as the president of the National Football League Players Association from 2008 to 2012, where he played a key role in the 2011 lockout negotiations. After retiring from football, Mawae was inducted into the LSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2019. He currently works as an offensive analyst for Arizona State University.
