Kirk Ferentz is one of the most successful coaches in the history of American football. He was born on August 1, 1955, in Royal Oak, Michigan, and raised in Pennsylvania. Ferentz began his football journey as an offensive line coach in 1981 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He became a graduate assistant at the University of Pittsburgh before serving as an offensive line coach at various schools, including Iowa, Maine, and Cleveland Browns. More about Kirk Ferentz

In 1999, Ferentz took over as the head coach of the Iowa Hawkeyes, a position he holds to this day. Under his leadership, Iowa football has become a powerhouse, regularly ranking among the top 25 programs in the nation. Ferentz has led Iowa to ten bowl game victories and three Big Ten championships. Overall, his tenure at Iowa has been a remarkable success, as he has built a program that is both nationally respected and admired.

In recognition of his contributions to the game of football, Kirk Ferentz has received multiple awards and honors. He has been named Big Ten Coach of the Year four times and was the Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year in 2002. Furthermore, in 2015, he was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the great coaches in the history of American football.
