Korey Stringer Autograph

Korey Stringer was an American football player who was born on May 8, 1974 in Warren, Ohio. During his high school years, Stringer was highly recognized for his exceptional talent in football. He received numerous awards and recognitions such as being named Ohio’s Division I Defensive Player during his junior year. In 1995, Stringer was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings as the 24th overall pick in the first round of the NFL Draft. During his tenure with the Vikings, he established himself as one of the best offensive linemen in the league. He played in every game during his first five seasons with the team and was selected as a Pro Bowler in 2000. In 2001, Stringer helped the Vikings reach the NFC Championship game, but unfortunately suffered an injury in the game that caused him to miss the following season.

On August 1, 2001, Stringer tragically died at the age of 27 due to complications from heat stroke during summer training camp. His sudden death shocked the football world and led to changes in safety protocols during training camps. His legacy still lives on today as the Vikings honor him with a memorial patch on their jerseys and posthumously inducted him into their Ring of Honor in 2018.
