Lamar Lundy Autographs
Lamar Lundy was an American professional football player who played as a defensive end for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League(NFL). Born on April 17, 1935, in Richmond, Indiana, Lundy attended Purdue University where he played college football for the Boilermakers. Throughout his four year career at Purdue, Lundy set numerous records and was named to several All-American teams. Lundy's standout performance in college caught the attention of the Los Angeles Rams who drafted him in the third round of the 1957 NFL draft.
After being drafted by the Rams, Lundy quickly established himself as one of the best defensive ends in professional football. His superior strength, speed, and agility made him a dominant presence on the field. Lundy played for the Rams from 1957 to 1969 where he recorded 48 sacks and 22 fumble recoveries over his 13-year career. He was a key player on the Rams' "Fearsome Foursome" defense which dominated the NFL during the 1960s. The Fearsome Foursome consisted of four elite defensive linemen, including Lundy, who terrorized offensive players with their aggressive style of play.
Off the field, Lundy was a quiet and humble personality who often preferred to let his performance on the field speak for itself. Ultimately, Lamar Lundy's contributions to the NFL on the football field and as a part of the fearsome foursome will not be forgotten, and he remains an important part of the Los Angeles Rams' history. Lundy passed away on February 24, 2007, due to natural causes.
