Lance Alworth Autographs
Lance Alworth was an American football player born on August 3, 1940, in Houston, Texas. He excelled as a wide receiver, known for his speed and agility, and played for both the San Diego Chargers and Dallas Cowboys during his career. Alworth was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1978, a testament to his incredible skills on the field.
Alworth's football career began in college, where he played for the University of Arkansas from 1959 to 1961. He was selected as an All-American in both 1960 and 1961, and was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the 1962 NFL draft. However, Alworth ultimately chose to play for the newly-formed American Football League (AFL) instead, signing with the San Diego Chargers.
It was with the Chargers that Alworth truly made a name for himself as one of the greatest receivers in professional football history. He played there for nine years, from 1962 to 1970, and was named an All-Pro six times during his tenure. Alworth was instrumental in helping the Chargers win the AFL championship in 1963, as well as leading them to four division titles and two more championship games. Over the course of his career, he amassed 10,266 receiving yards and scored 85 touchdowns, cementing his place in football history.
