Larry Brown was an American football player who played as a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for nine seasons. He was born on October 17, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Brown played college football at Kansas State University and was later drafted by the Washington Redskins in the eighth round of the 1969 NFL Draft. More about Larry Brown

During his rookie season in 1969, Brown played in all 14 regular-season games for the Redskins, rushing for 888 yards and eight touchdowns. He was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year and helped lead the Redskins to the playoffs. In 1972, Brown had his best season, rushing for 1,216 yards and eight touchdowns. He was named the NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) and led the Redskins to a victory in Super Bowl VII over the Miami Dolphins.

Brown continued to play for the Redskins until 1976 before ending his career with the Oakland Raiders in 1978. In his nine NFL seasons, he rushed for a total of 8,360 yards and 55 touchdowns. Brown was a three-time Pro Bowl selection and was inducted into the Washington Redskins Ring of Fame in 2005. His exceptional running skills and contributions to the Redskins' success during his tenure make him one of the most celebrated players in the team's history.
