Larry Izzo Autographs
Larry Izzo is a former American football linebacker who played 14 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Born on October 2, 1974, in Everett, Massachusetts, Izzo began his football career at Everett High School, where he earned a reputation as a versatile player. He went on to play college football at Rice University in Houston, Texas, where he was a standout linebacker for the Rice Owls from 1992-1995.
After going undrafted in the 1996 NFL Draft, Izzo signed with the Miami Dolphins as a free agent. He played for the Dolphins for nine seasons, becoming one of the team's most reliable and consistent special teams players. Izzo went on to play briefly for the New England Patriots and New York Jets, winning three Super Bowl titles in his four seasons with the Patriots. He also earned three Pro Bowl honors during his NFL career. Izzo retired from the NFL in 2009 with 407 tackles, 18 sacks, and 10 interceptions over 209 games.
Izzo's success on special teams earned him the respect of his peers and the recognition of the league, eventually resulting in his selection to the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team. After retiring from the NFL, Izzo continued his coaching career as an assistant coach for the New York Giants, Houston Texans, and Seattle Seahawks, respectively. Today, he is the special teams coordinator for the Seattle Seahawks for the 2021 season.
