Laurence Maroney Autographs
Laurence Maroney is a former American football running back who was born on February 5, 1985, in St. Louis, Missouri. Maroney attended Normandy High School in St. Louis, where he played football before gaining a scholarship to play for the University of Minnesota. He played for Minnesota from 2003 to 2005 and became the starting running back in 2004, rushing for 1,292 yards and 12 touchdowns. He had an excellent career at Minnesota, earning All-Big Ten honors in both 2004 and 2005.
Maroney was selected in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft, 21st overall, by the New England Patriots. He played for the Patriots from 2006 to 2009, where he solidified his position as a reliable running back capable of making big plays. His best season with the Patriots was in 2007, where he rushed for 835 yards and six touchdowns. He proved to be particularly effective in the playoffs, helping the Patriots reach Super Bowl XLII. Maroney was traded to the Denver Broncos in 2010 and played for them until the end of the 2011 season. Injuries affected his playing time while on the Broncos, and his career eventually faded out of the NFL.
In total, Maroney had a solid NFL career that spanned six seasons. He played in 64 games, rushed for 2,430 yards, and scored 21 touchdowns. He was known for his speed and agility while on the field, making him a formidable player for any defense he came up against. Although his playing career has come to an end, Maroney still remains a part of the football world, as he is an advocate for concussion awareness and player safety.
