Len Rohde Autographs
Len Rohde was a former American football player with an impressive career that spanned more than a decade. Born on February 24, 1938, in Salem, Oregon, Rohde attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, where he played college football as a tackle. He was a three-time All Western Athletic Conference selection from 1957 to 1959 and an All-American in 1959. Rohde helped lead Utah to two bowl games, including the Liberty Bowl in 1957 and the Gotham Bowl in 1960.
After college, Len Rohde was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the third round of the 1960 NFL Draft. He quickly established himself as a reliable player and became a fixture in the 49ers' offensive line. Rohde played 15 seasons with the 49ers, starting in 208 regular-season games, which was then a franchise record. He also played in five Pro Bowls and was named to the All-Pro team in 1970. Rohde was recognized as one of the most durable and consistent offensive linemen in the history of the National Football League. After retiring in 1974, Rohde stayed involved in the game, serving as a color commentator for the 49ers' radio broadcasts from 1976 to 1980.
Len Rohde was inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame in 1998 and the Utah Sports Hall of Fame in 2001. In 2019, Rohde was also named to the San Francisco 49ers' All-Time Team. He is remembered by many as one of the finest offensive linemen in franchise history and a key contributor to the 49ers' success in the 1960s and 1970s. His dedication to the game and his teammates, as well as his talent and impressive career, earned him a special place in the hearts of 49ers fans and football enthusiasts alike.
