Leonard Fournette is an American professional football player who plays the position of a running back. He was born on January 18, 1995, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and began his football career in high school where he became a star player. His excellent football skills earned him recognition as one of the best high school football players in the United States, and he was given numerous awards, including the USA Today Offensive Player of the Year and the Parade All-American. After high school, Fournette committed to play football at Louisiana State University, where he continued to excel and set several records.
During his time at Louisiana State University, Leonard Fournette left a lasting impact on the college football scene. He had an outstanding career at LSU, setting a number of records and earning several accolades along the way. In 2015, Fournette was a consensus All-American and was named first-team All-SEC after rushing for a school-record of 1,953 yards and 22 touchdowns. He followed that up with another successful season the following year, earning All-SEC honors with 1,384 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. Fournette's impressive college football career and his exceptional talent earned him a first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
After being drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Leonard Fournette continued to show his prowess as one of the top running backs in the professional football world. In his rookie season, Fournette garnered several awards and recognition for his outstanding performance and achievements. He led all rookie running backs in rushing yards and was named Offensive Rookie of the Month twice. Despite battling injuries in the following seasons, Fournette remained a key player for the Jaguars and helped them to the AFC championship game in 2017.
