Josephson's football career ended when he was traded to the Houston Oilers in 1973. He played only one season with the Oilers, finishing the campaign with just 143 rushing yards and 1 touchdown, before being released. Josephson retired from football at the end of the 1973 season after playing 104 games and rushing for 2,531 yards and 14 touchdowns. Despite not being a household name, Josephson was a reliable player who made significant contributions to the teams he played for, and his legacy has lived on in the NFL.
