Major Applewhite Autographs
Major Applewhite is an American former football quarterback who played for the University of Texas Longhorns from 1998 to 2001. He was born on July 26, 1978 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Applewhite had a successful college career, earning several accolades such as the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 1999 and leading his team to the Cotton Bowl Classic in 2000.
After college, Applewhite entered the National Football League (NFL) draft in 2002, but he went undrafted. He then played for various teams in the Arena Football League and Canadian Football League. In 2006, he returned to the NFL briefly, playing for the New Orleans Saints as the third-string quarterback. When he retired from playing football, Applewhite went into coaching. He worked as an assistant coach for several college teams, including the University of Alabama, the University of Houston, and the University of Texas. In 2017, he was named the head coach of the University of Houston football team, a position he held until 2018.
Throughout his football career, Applewhite was known for his accuracy as a passer and his leadership on the field. He finished his college career with over 8,000 passing yards and 60 touchdowns. As a coach, he has helped develop several successful quarterbacks, including Case Keenum and Jalen Hurts. Applewhite's contributions to American football have been widely recognized, both as a player and a coach.
