Marcus Trufant was born on December 25, 1980, in Tacoma, Washington. He attended Wilson High School in Tacoma, where he played football as a cornerback and wide receiver. He was a standout player in the league and was named a first-team all-state defensive back. He later attended Washington State University, where he played for the Cougars for four years.
