Mario Alford Autographs
Mario Alford is a former American football wide receiver and return specialist. He was born on July 30, 1992, in Greenville, Georgia, and attended Georgia Military College before transferring to West Virginia University, where he played college football. Alford had an impressive college career, accumulating 1,352 yards and eight touchdowns from scrimmage, as well as being a dynamic kick returner. During his senior year in 2014, he caught 65 passes for 945 yards and eleven touchdowns while also returning three kickoffs for touchdowns.
Following his successful collegiate career, Alford was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the seventh round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons with the Bengals, primarily contributing as a kick returner, totaling 862 return yards and one touchdown, while recording just one catch for 15 yards. After being waived by the Bengals in 2017, Alford spent time on several NFL practice squads, including the New York Jets, Chicago Bears, and Washington Redskins, before eventually landing in the Canadian Football League.
In 2019, Alford signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL and made an immediate impact as a kick returner, totaling 1,780 return yards and one touchdown on 90 returns. He also saw some action at wide receiver, catching 79 passes for 1,025 yards and six touchdowns. Unfortunately, Alford was released in 2020 after the CFL canceled its season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Nonetheless, he remains a talented and dynamic player with aspirations of one day returning to the NFL.
