Mark Clayton

Mark Clayton was an American footballer, born in Houston, Texas in 1961. He was a wide receiver who played for the Miami Dolphins for 10 seasons, from 1983 to 1992. He was known for his speed and his ability to make incredible catches. In 1984, he set a Dolphins record by catching 18 touchdown passes in a single season, a record that stood for 20 years. Clayton played college football at the University of Louisville, where he was a standout receiver for the Cardinals. He was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 1983 NFL Draft, and he quickly established himself as one of the best receivers in the game. During his time with the Dolphins, Clayton was a six-time Pro Bowler and a two-time All-Pro. He was also named to the NFL's All-Decade Team of the 1980s.

After retiring from football, Clayton worked as a sports commentator and analyst for various media outlets. He also founded the Mark Clayton Foundation, which is dedicated to providing educational and leadership opportunities for at-risk youth. Clayton was inducted into the Miami Dolphins' Honor Roll in 2003, and he was a finalist for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011. He remains one of the most beloved and revered players in Dolphins history, and his legacy as one of the greatest receivers in NFL history is secure.
