Marty Domres Autographs
Marty Domres was an American football player who was born on June 22, 1947, in Charleston, South Carolina. He played quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) for six seasons with four different teams. He played college football at the University of Maryland and was a first-round draft pick by the San Diego Chargers in the 1972 NFL Draft.
Domres played for the San Diego Chargers from 1972 to 1973, then he moved on to play for the Baltimore Colts from 1974 to 1976. He then played for the New York Giants in 1977, and his final season was with the Buffalo Bills in 1978. Domres' best season was in 1974, where he led the Colts to an 11-3 record and an appearance in the AFC Championship game. However, they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who went on to win their first-ever Super Bowl.
Despite playing for four different teams throughout his career, Domres only started 32 total games in the NFL. He retired after the 1978 season and finished his career with 25 touchdown passes, 3,981 passing yards, and a passer rating of 64.8. After his retirement, Domres became a successful businessman in Baltimore and was inducted into the Maryland State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.
