Marty Lyons is an American football defensive tackle who played college football at the University of Alabama before enjoying a long and successful career in the NFL. Born on January 15, 1957, in Pinson, Alabama, Lyons grew up loving football and excelled in it from a young age. He played under coach Paul W. "Bear" Bryant at Alabama, where he became one of the best defensive players in the country. He was a four-year starter at the university, and he was named an All-American in his senior year.
