Matt Prater is a professional American football player, who made his mark as one of the most reliable kickers in the history of the sport. Born in West Palm Beach, Florida in August 1984, he played high school football at Estero High School before becoming a standout player on the college level. He played for the University of Central Florida Knights where he was named the MVP of the 2007 Conference USA Championship game.
However, it was his successful professional career that elevated Prater as one of the top kickers in the NFL. He was undrafted in 2006 but was eventually picked up by the Miami Dolphins before being waived at the end of the preseason. Prater then had stints with several teams, including the Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos, before finding his footing with the Detroit Lions. While with the Broncos, he set a record for the longest field goal in NFL history, kicking a 64-yard field goal in December 2013.

His success on the field earned him numerous awards and recognitions, including two Pro Bowl selections in 2013 and 2016, and All-Pro Honors in 2013. With his unparalleled talent in the game, Prater's definitely one of the most dependable and respected kickers in American football.
