Maury Buford Autograph

Maury Buford was a former punter in the National Football League (NFL) who played for several different teams over his 11-year career. Born in Dallas, Texas in 1960, Buford played college football at Texas Tech University before entering the NFL draft in 1982. The peak of Buford's career came during his time with the Bears, where he played for six seasons between 1985 and 1990. He was a vital part of the team's dominant defense during their legendary 1985 season, where the Bears went 15-1 and won Super Bowl XX. Buford was known for his laser-accurate punting and his ability to pin opposing teams deep in their own territory. He was also a reliable holder for extra points and field goals, making him a valuable member of the Bears special teams unit. Buford retired from the NFL in 1992 after playing his final season with the Los Angeles Rams.

In addition to his football career, Buford was also a talented musician and songwriter. He released a number of albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s, showcasing his love of country music and his ability to write heartfelt songs.
