Morris played for the Miami Dolphins from 1969 to 1975, and then for the San Diego Chargers in 1976 and the Indianapolis Colts in 1977. However, he is best known for his successful stint with the Dolphins, where he won two Super Bowls and played alongside other legends like Bob Griese, Larry Csonka, and Paul Warfield. Morris was a key player in the unbeatend 1972 Dolphins team, which is the only team in NFL history to have a perfect season. Morris was known for his breakaway speed and his ability to break through tackles, making him a formidable opponent on the field. He finished his career with 5,935 rushing yards and 49 touchdowns, and was inducted into the Miami Dolphins Honor Roll in 1990.

After his football career, Morris struggled with drug addiction and spent time in prison. However, he turned his life around and became an advocate for drug awareness and education. He also owns a company that specializes in motivational speaking and mentoring for at-risk youth. Despite his personal struggles, Morris' talent and contributions to the sport of football cannot be denied, and he remains a respected figure in the NFL.
