Michael Jenkins was born on June 18, 1982, in Tampa Bay, Florida. He began his football career at Leto High School, where he played as a wide receiver. His performance in high school earned him a scholarship to play for Ohio State University, where he became a standout player over his four-year career. Jenkins caught 1,076 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns for the Buckeyes and was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft. More about Michael Jenkins

Jenkins played seven seasons in the NFL as a wide receiver for the Falcons and the Minnesota Vikings. He was known for his ability to make crucial catches and his excellent speed and agility on the field. During his career, Jenkins caught 354 passes for 4,427 yards and 25 touchdowns, including a career-high of 777 receiving yards in 2008. His contributions helped lead the Falcons to the playoffs in 2008 and 2010, and the Vikings in 2011. He retired in 2014 and has since worked as a coach and mentor to young athletes.
