Mike Alstott was a professional American football player who was born on December 21, 1973, in Joliet, Illinois. He attended Purdue University, where he played as a fullback for the Boilermakers, from 1992 to 1995. In 1996, Mike was drafted in the second round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he would spend his entire 12-year NFL career. He became known for his powerful running style and was considered one of the greatest fullbacks in the history of the NFL.
During his time playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Mike Alstott became one of the most recognizable players on the team. He was a six-time Pro Bowl selection and a three-time All-Pro, demonstrating the impact he had on the sport of football. Mike’s most significant achievement came in 2002 when he helped the Buccaneers win their first-ever Super Bowl. He played an essential role in the game, powering the team to victory with his outstanding performance on the field.
After a career in football, Mike Alstott retired in 2008 and began working as a coach and sports analyst. He was inducted into the Purdue Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013 and was recognized as one of Tampa Bay’s most prominent sports figures.
