Mike Brown is a retired professional ice hockey player who was born on June 24, 1985, in Chicago, Illinois. Brown began his hockey career as a youth player for the Chicago Young Americans and played for the University of Michigan Wolverines in the NCAA Division I. In 2004, he was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the fifth round of the NHL Entry Draft.
Brown made his NHL debut in 2007 with the Canucks and played for various teams throughout his career, including the Anaheim Ducks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, San Jose Sharks, and Montreal Canadiens. Throughout his career, Brown was known for his physical play and his ability to fight on the ice. He was also a skilled penalty killer and was often used in that role by his coaches.
In total, Brown played in 435 NHL games, scoring 18 goals and 16 assists for 34 points. He retired from professional hockey in 2018 and now works as a player development coach for the Chicago Blackhawks. Brown's dedication to the sport and his toughness on the ice made him a valuable player throughout his career, and his contributions to the game have left a lasting impact on the hockey community.
