Mike Doss Autographs
Mike Doss is a former American football safety who played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for six seasons. Born on March 17, 1981, in Canton, Ohio, Doss attended Canton McKinley High School, where he excelled as a football player. He helped McKinley win two Ohio state championships and earned several All-State and All-American honors. In 1999, he was named Ohio Mr. Football, the award given to the state's top high school player.
After finishing high school, Doss went to Ohio State University, where he continued his impressive football career. He played for the Buckeyes from 2000 to 2002 and was a three-time All-Big Ten Conference selection. In 2002, Doss was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, helping Ohio State win the national championship that year. He was also a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the top defensive back in college football. Doss finished his college career with 331 tackles, eight interceptions, and four forced fumbles.
The Indianapolis Colts selected Doss in the second round of the 2003 NFL draft. He played for the Colts from 2003 to 2006, helping them win the Super Bowl in 2006. He then played for the Minnesota Vikings in 2007 and the Cincinnati Bengals in 2008. In total, Doss played in 64 NFL games and recorded 360 tackles, three interceptions, and a sack. Although his NFL career was cut short by injuries, Doss is remembered as one of the best college football safeties of his time and a fierce competitor on the gridiron.
