Mike Haynes is a former American football cornerback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons. He was born on July 1, 1953, in Denison, Texas, and grew up in Los Angeles, California. He attended Arizona State University, where he played for the Arizona State Sun Devils football team from 1972 to 1975. He was selected by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 1976 NFL Draft, and he played for the Patriots from 1976 to 1982. He was then traded to the Los Angeles Raiders, where he played from 1983 to 1989 before retiring from professional football. More about Mike Haynes

During his NFL career, Haynes was regarded as one of the best cornerbacks in the league, and he earned numerous accolades and recognitions for his performances on the field. He was a nine-time Pro Bowler, an eight-time All-Pro, and was named to the NFL's All-Decade Team for the 1980s. He was also a two-time NFL interceptions leader, and he finished his career with 46 interceptions, 18 fumble recoveries, and six defensive touchdowns.
