Mike Leach Autographs
Mike Leach is an American football coach who is known for his innovative offensive tactics. He was born on March 9, 1961, in Susanville, California. Leach attended Brigham Young University where he played football and graduated with a degree in American Studies. He began his coaching career in 1983 at Cal Poly and later worked as an assistant coach at Iowa Wesleyan, College of the Desert, and Valdosta State.
Leach's big break came in 2000 when he became the head coach at Texas Tech University. During his tenure at Texas Tech, he led the team to ten postseason appearances and was named the Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year twice. Leach's high-powered offense, known as the "Air Raid" attack, was instrumental in his success at Texas Tech. He coached a number of notable quarterbacks, including Kliff Kingsbury and Graham Harrell. In 2008, Leach led Texas Tech to a school-record 11 wins and an appearance in the Cotton Bowl.
After leaving Texas Tech in 2009, Leach became the head coach at Washington State University. During his time at Washington State, he led the team to six bowl appearances and was named the Pac-12 Conference Coach of the Year in 2015. Leach's offensive system continued to be effective at Washington State, as the team led the nation in passing in 2014 and 2015. Leach's contributions to American football have been significant, particularly in the evolution of offensive strategies. He has been recognized as one of the most innovative coaches in the game and continues to inspire young players and coaches.
