Mike Mamula was an American football player who played in the National Football League (NFL) for six seasons as a linebacker and defensive end. He was born on August 14, 1973, in Lackawanna, New York. Mamula attended Lackawanna High School where he played as a defensive end and linebacker. Mamula retired from the NFL in 2000 after playing one season for the Oakland Raiders. Despite his successful NFL career, Mamula is best known for his performance at the NFL Combine in 1995. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.58 seconds, a remarkable feat for a linebacker. This, along with his other combine performances, led to his selection in the top 10 of the draft.
