Mike Rozier is a retired American football running back who played professionally in both the National Football League (NFL) and the United States Football League (USFL). He was born on March 1, 1961, in Camden, New Jersey, and grew up in a rough neighborhood. Despite these challenges, he developed a passion for football, and his natural talent quickly became apparent. Rozier played college football at the University of Nebraska, where he had a stellar career, earning recognition as a two-time consensus All-American and winning the Heisman Trophy in 1983. After graduating from college, Rozier played for the Pittsburgh Maulers of the USFL, where he continued to excel. In the league's only season of 1984, he led the league in rushing with 1,361 yards and was named USFL Rookie of the Year. He then joined the Houston Oilers of the NFL in 1985 and had a productive five-year career with the team, earning two Pro Bowl selections and rushing for over 1,000 yards in three consecutive seasons.
