Mike Utley Autographs
Mike Utley was an American football offensive guard who played for the Detroit Lions in the National Football League (NFL) from 1989 until 1991. Born on December 20, 1965, in Seattle, Washington, Utley was known for his athleticism, strength, and durability. He played college football at the Washington State University, where he was an All-Pac-10 selection in 1988.
Utley's NFL career was cut short after he suffered a spinal cord injury during a game against the Los Angeles Rams on November 17, 1991. The injury left him paralyzed from the chest down and confined to a wheelchair. Despite the tragic end to his football career, Utley remains an inspiration for many players and fans of the sport. His positive outlook and fighting spirit in the face of adversity earned him widespread respect and admiration.
After his injury, Utley became an advocate for spinal cord injury research and founded The Mike Utley Foundation, which supports research and rehabilitation programs for people with spinal cord injuries. He also wrote a book about his experience, titled "Still Standing: The Story of My Life After Paralysis." Utley's contributions to football and his advocacy for people with disabilities continue to inspire and motivate individuals around the world.
