Milt Plum Autographs
Milt Plum was an American football quarterback, born on January 20, 1935, in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. He played college football at Pennsylvania State University, where he was the starting quarterback for the Nittany Lions in the 1954 and 1955 seasons. In 1956, Plum was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the second round of the NFL draft, and he went on to have a successful career in the sport.
Plum played in the NFL for thirteen seasons, from 1957 to 1969, and during that time, he played for the Browns, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Rams, and New York Giants. His best years were spent with the Browns, where he was the starting quarterback from 1957 to 1961. During his time in Cleveland, Plum helped lead the team to the NFL championship in 1964. He was also named to the Pro Bowl in 1960 and 1961 and was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player in 1960.
After retiring from the NFL, Plum went on to coach football at a high school in Madison, Ohio. In 1984, he was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. Throughout his career in football, Plum was known for his accuracy and ability to convert on third down. He finished his NFL career with 17,533 passing yards, 122 touchdowns, and a passer rating of 74.1. Milt Plum is remembered as one of the great quarterbacks of his era and as a key player in the history of the Cleveland Browns.
