Najeh Davenport was a former American football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) from 2002 to 2008. Born on February 8, 1979 in Raleigh, North Carolina, Davenport grew up in Miami, Florida and attended Miami Central High School. He received a football scholarship to the University of Miami, where he played college football for four years as a backup to future NFL stars Clinton Portis and Frank Gore. Off the field, Davenport made headlines in 2002 when he was accused of breaking into a woman's dorm room at Barry University in Miami and defecating in her laundry basket. He was charged with burglary and criminal mischief, but reached a plea deal and was ordered to perform community service. He later became involved in various charitable causes and was recognized for his philanthropic work by the NFL Players Association.
