Nate Allen is a retired American football safety who played in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. He was born on November 30, 1987, in Cape Coral, Florida, and attended Cape Coral High School, where he played football as a safety and running back. Allen was a two-way player in high school, earning all-state honors as a safety and rushing for more than 1,000 yards as a senior. As a collegiate athlete, Nate Allen played for USF's football team from 2006 to 2009. During his junior season, he was named second-team All-Big East Conference after recording 70 tackles, five interceptions, and seven pass breakups. In his senior season, Allen was a team captain and earned first-team All-Big East honors. He finished his college career with 226 tackles, eight interceptions, and 14 passes defended. As a result of his successful career with the USF Bulls, Allen was drafted in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles.

During his professional career, Nate Allen played for the Philadelphia Eagles (2010-2014), the Oakland Raiders (2015-2016), and the Miami Dolphins (2017). He appeared in 110 NFL games, starting in 76 of them. Allen recorded 390 tackles, 13 interceptions, and 33 passes defended throughout his seven-year career. After playing for Miami in 2017, Allen announced his retirement from the NFL in May 2018. Despite a few injuries and setbacks during his career, Allen is known for his hard work, perseverance, and dedication to the game of football.
