Ordell Braase Autograph

Ordell Braase was born on February 13, 1932, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a dominant defensive end who played for the Baltimore Colts of the National Football League from 1957 to 1968. Braase was a six-time Pro Bowler and an integral part of the Colts' defense that won two NFL championships in 1958 and 1959. Braase was initially drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the second round of the 1954 NFL draft, but he declined to sign with them as he chose to work as a high school coach for a year. In 1955, he joined the Colts and played as a right end, where he quickly established himself as one of the league's premier pass rushers. Braase is best remembered for his performance in the 1958 NFL Championship Game where the Colts defeated the New York Giants in what is widely considered as one of the greatest games in NFL history. Braase played a pivotal role in the game, sacking Giants quarterback Charlie Conerly four times.

After retiring from the NFL in 1968, Braase worked as a broadcaster for the Colts and later as a television analyst for the Baltimore Ravens, the team which moved to Baltimore in 1996. In 2012, he was inducted into the Baltimore Ravens Ring of Honor, joining some of the greatest players in the history of the franchise.
