Oscar Roan Autographs
Oscar Roan was an American football player who was born on February 22, 1960. He grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, and attended Auburn University, where he played as a defensive tackle. Roan was known for his ability to stop the opposing team's run game with his strength and aggressiveness. He was also an outstanding student, earning a degree in mechanical engineering while playing for the Tigers.
After graduating from Auburn in 1982, Roan was selected in the eighth round of the NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. He played for the Browns for four seasons, from 1982 to 1985, before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. Roan spent the next three seasons, from 1986 to 1988, with the Eagles, where he became a starter at defensive tackle. In his seven seasons in the NFL, Roan played in 99 games, recorded 6 sacks, and recovered 3 fumbles. He was known for his toughness and leadership on the field, and was respected by his teammates and coaches alike.
After retiring from the NFL, Roan returned to Auburn University, where he earned a master's degree in mechanical engineering. He then went on to work for General Electric, where he held various engineering and management positions. Roan remained active in his community, volunteering his time with youth sports programs and serving on the board of directors for several non-profit organizations. He passed away on July 24, 2018, at the age of 58, but his legacy as a standout football player and model citizen will always be remembered.
