Ottis Anderson Autographs
Ottis Anderson, also known as "O.J." Anderson, is a retired American football running back who played in the National Football League for 14 seasons. Anderson was born on January 19th, 1957, in West Palm Beach, Florida. He attended Forest Hill Community High School and went on to play college football at the University of Miami. Anderson was a standout player in college, earning first-team All-American honors in 1978.
In 1979, Anderson was selected eighth overall in the NFL draft by the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the Cardinals for eight seasons and is considered one of the best running backs in franchise history. In 1985, Anderson led the NFL in rushing yards with 1,605 and was named the league's Offensive Player of the Year. He also helped the Cardinals make the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade. Anderson was traded to the New York Giants in 1986, where he would become a legend.
Anderson played six seasons with the Giants and was instrumental in their Super Bowl championship in 1990. He was named the Super Bowl MVP after rushing for 102 yards and scoring a touchdown in their 20-19 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Anderson retired after the 1992 season with 10,273 rushing yards, 81 rushing touchdowns, and two Super Bowl rings. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest running backs of his era.
