Phil Dawson Autographs
Phil Dawson is a former American football kicker who played 21 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on January 23, 1975, in West Palm Beach, Florida. He started playing football at Lake Highlands High School in Dallas, where he was both a placekicker and a punter. After high school, Dawson attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he played college football for the Longhorns.
Dawson entered the NFL in 1998 as a member of the Oakland Raiders, but he only played in one game before he was released. He then signed with the New England Patriots but was released again before he could play a game. Dawson finally found a permanent home with the Cleveland Browns, where he played for 14 seasons from 1999 to 2012. In his time with the Browns, he became one of the NFL's most reliable and accurate kickers. In fact, he holds the Browns' franchise record for most field goals made, surpassing Hall of Famer Lou Groza. Dawson also played for the San Francisco 49ers from 2013 to 2016 and the Arizona Cardinals from 2017 to 2018 before retiring from football in 2019.
Throughout his career, Dawson was known for his consistency and accuracy as a kicker. He made 441 field goals out of 526 attempts, which translates to an 83.8% field goal percentage. Dawson was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2012 and was also named a First-Team All-Pro in 2012 by the Associated Press. His achievements and his impact on the field have earned him a reputation as one of the most respected and reliable kickers in NFL history.
