Plaxico Burress Autographs
Plaxico Burress is a former wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). Born on August 12, 1977, in Norfolk, Virginia, Burress developed a passion for football from an early age. He attended Virginia Tech, where he played college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies. In 2000, he was drafted in the first round of the NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, beginning his career in professional football.
Burress played for the Steelers for five seasons and was part of the team that won Super Bowl XL in 2006. In 2005, he set a team record for receptions in a season with 98. He remained with the team until 2004 when he signed with the New York Giants. He quickly became one of the top receivers in the league, helping lead the Giants to a Super Bowl victory in 2008 over the undefeated New England Patriots. However, he also endured several controversies throughout his career, including a suspension for accidentally shooting himself in the leg at a nightclub in 2008.
In total, Burress played for 11 seasons in the NFL, retiring in 2013. He finished his career with 8,499 receiving yards and 64 touchdowns. Although his career was not without controversy, Burress will be remembered as one of the top receivers of his time and a key contributor to Super Bowl victories for both the Steelers and Giants.
