Randy Duncan Autographs
Randy Duncan was an accomplished American Football player who played for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the late 1950s. Born on March 12, 1936, in Osage, Iowa, Duncan was a talented quarterback who had a successful career in high school before joining the University of Iowa. During his freshman year, he was a backup quarterback, but he quickly earned the starting position in his sophomore year. In 1956, he led the Hawkeyes to a Big Ten championship and a Rose Bowl victory, making him one of the most successful quarterbacks in the history of Iowa football.
In 1958, Duncan was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the first round, but he chose to play in Canada instead. He played for the Dallas Texans in the Canadian Football League, where he had a successful career, earning several All-Star honors. He was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1987. Although he never played in the National Football League, Duncan's football career was still impressive, and he is remembered as one of the greatest players in the history of Iowa football.
After his retirement from football, Duncan went on to have a successful career in banking and finance. In 1976, he was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives, where he served six two-year terms. He later served as the director of the Iowa Department of Commerce and as a member of the Iowa Board of Regents. Despite his success in politics and business, Randy Duncan will always be remembered for his accomplishments on the football field, where he was known for his leadership, athletic ability, and competitive spirit.
