Crockett's career with the Detroit Lions spanned four seasons, during which time he played in 54 games and started in 16 of them. He was a valuable member of the team's defensive backfield, and his coverage skills helped the team make it to the playoffs in 1991. After being released by the Lions in 1992, Crockett played for the Denver Broncos for nine seasons. During his time with the Broncos, Crockett had some of his best performances on the field. In 1997 and 1998, he was a key player on the Broncos' Super Bowl-winning teams. He was known for his hard-hitting tackles and his ability to lock down opposing receivers.

After his playing career ended, Crockett became a coach, working with several NFL teams. He also founded Ray Crockett Coaching, where he provides training and mentoring for athletes at all levels. Crockett's contributions to the game of football have made him one of the sport's most respected figures. He is remembered as a fierce competitor on the field, but also as a dedicated and compassionate coach who has helped young players reach their full potential.
