Ray Pinney Autographs
Ray Pinney was an American Football player who played in the National Football League (NFL) from 1976-1984. He was born on April 27, 1954 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attended Brashear High School. After finishing high school, Pinney attended the University of Pittsburgh and played college football for the Panthers from 1973-1975. During his time at Pittsburgh, he was a two-time All-American offensive tackle and helped lead the Panthers to a national championship in 1976.
In 1976, Pinney was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the NFL Draft. He played for the Steelers for eight seasons, primarily as an offensive tackle. He was known for his toughness and was a key part of the Steelers' offensive line during their Super Bowl-winning seasons in 1978 and 1979. In 1984, Pinney was traded to the Indianapolis Colts, where he played his final season before retiring from the NFL.
After retiring from football, Pinney settled in Pittsburgh where he worked as a commercial real estate broker. He remained involved in the football community, serving as a radio analyst for the University of Pittsburgh football team. Ray Pinney passed away on April 5, 2021, at the age of 66, leaving behind a legacy as one of the best offensive tackles to ever play for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
