Red Miller Autographs

Red Miller was a former American Football player who paved his way to the top ranks of the National Football League (NFL) as a head coach. Born in Alderson, West Virginia in 1927, Miller played for his high school football team in Columbus, Ohio, before joining the United States Marine Corps and serving in World War II. After the war, he attended Bowling Green State University, where he played football as an offensive tackle.
During his professional football career, Miller played for the Baltimore Colts, the Cleveland Browns, and the Green Bay Packers. However, his football career was primarily limited to special teams; his most notable play came in 1950, when he returned a blocked punt for a touchdown. Miller left his playing career behind in 1960, when he accepted his first coaching position at his alma mater, Bowling Green.
After coaching the Falcons for two seasons, Miller moved on to become an assistant coach with the Oakland Raiders, serving in the role from 1963 until 1967. In 1970, he joined the head coaching staff of the Denver Broncos, and in 1977, he was at the helm of the team that took the Broncos to Super Bowl XII, where they were defeated by the Dallas Cowboys. Miller was widely credited with turning the Broncos around, and received Coach of the Year honors after the 1977 season. After leaving the Broncos, Miller worked as a color commentator for CBS Sports before retiring from football. He passed away in 2017 at the age of 89.
