Rick Mirer Autographs
Rick Mirer is an American former football quarterback known for his successful college football career at the University of Notre Dame and his stint in the NFL. Born on March 19, 1970, in Goshen, Indiana, Mirer grew up in the small Indiana town of Goshen. He attended Goshen High School where he played in three sports: football, basketball, and baseball.
Mirer began his college football career at the University of Notre Dame, where he played from 1989-1992. He led the Fighting Irish to a 12-1 record and to a #3 ranking in the final polls during his sophomore year in 1989. He finished his college career with 65 touchdown passes and 7,508 yards passing, and was a consensus All-American in 1992. In the 1993 NFL draft, Mirer was selected by the Seattle Seahawks as the second overall pick. He spent four years with the Seahawks, followed by brief stints with the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, and Oakland Raiders before retiring in 2004.
While Mirer's NFL career was considered underwhelming, he still holds a number of passing records for the Seattle Seahawks. Mirer's rookie season remains one of the most successful seasons of a Seahawks quarterback, as he threw for over 2,800 yards and set a team record for touchdowns by a rookie quarterback with 12. However, Mirer's time with the NFL was plagued by inconsistency and he ultimately could not replicate his college success in the professional league. Despite this, Mirer remains a well-regarded former quarterback with a successful college career and several notable NFL moments.
