Bleier's pro career got off to a rocky start when he was drafted to fight in the Vietnam War. He was wounded in combat and was told he would never play football again due to the extent of his injuries. However, Bleier was determined to play again and after two years of grueling physical therapy, he returned to the Steelers in 1971. With his perseverance and dedication, Bleier became a crucial member of the team, helping the Steelers win four Super Bowls in the 1970s.

After retiring from football, Bleier worked as a motivational speaker and also became an advocate for veterans’ causes. He has authored several books about his life, including his memoir “Fighting Back,” which includes a detailed account of his service in Vietnam and his journey back to the football field. Bleier's dedication to his team, his country, and his personal goals has made him a beloved and respected figure in American football history. Read even more about Rocky Bleier at Wikipedia
